How To Read A Floor Plan
Reading a floor plan in most cases is pretty simple. Everything is mapped out and if you aren’t sure what something is, there is a key off to the side that you can follow.
“A floor plan is a two-dimensional blueprint of a home’s interior layout and is an extremely important part of the home building process.”
What A Floor Plan Shows:
- Additional Fittings
A floor plan is basically a blue print of the house, and the it is drawn with measurements that show the scale of the flooring and the walls. There may even be something that tells you of the features and fixtures that are in the home.
- Stairs are usually labelled with arrows that show the direction of the stairs, and other fixtures and fittings tend to be specifically labelled by name.
- Shows the orientation of the property.
- Sometimes, the floor plan is the most feasible or only way to visualize a property, so evaluate it carefully.
- 3D modelling is becoming popular now as a way for people and builders to better visualise designs and discuss them.
